Irene Ransom SHAW (1817, Lower Wakefield, Carleton Co., NB-26 Aug 1901, NB & Bur. in the ORSER Cemetery in Hartland, NB. She M. Samuel (“Sam”) Bishop ORSER (1815, Hartland, NB-1892), youngest child of William (or “Will”) ORSER & Mary BLAKE, 13 June 1835, Lower Wakefield—the couple was married in her father’s church by her father Rev. Jonathan SHAW and by Samuel’s brother. After their marriage, Irene & Samuel moved in with his parents. Will, his father, died on 24 Dec 1844 & Will’s widow, Mary, continued living with Samuel, Irene & their children until Mary’s death. Mary ORSER died on her birthday, 7 May 1856. The 1871 Brighton census records Sam B. ORSER (55-years-old, a FC Bapt. & a Farmer); Irena (54-years-old & also a FC Bapt.); and 3 of their children.
