- Birth: ABT 1638 in Weymouth, Norfolk, MA
Note:
Not 1644 as reported in Bowen. See Zubrinsky's "The Family of William^2 Carpenter of Rehoboth, Massachusetts", The American Genealogist 70:193. Another piece of evidence found after publication of the article was mentioned by Zubrinsky in his email of 22 Jul 2007 where he mentions that "Samuel Carpenter is listed as a Grand Enquest juryman at Plymouth on 4 June 1661 (PCR 3:215). He had to have been at least 21 (and a freeman) to serve in this capacity and was thus born no later than 4 June 1640."
Probably born at Weymouth.
