Date October 29 1888 County Saint John Place Saint John Newspaper The Daily Sun In the death of Thomas trueman sr. which took place Saturday morn., St. John is bereft of a worthy citizen. Mr. trueman was born in Westmorland Co. 77 years ago. For a number of years he resided in Moncton, at one time being one of the town's heaviest importers. He represented Moncton at the council board for many years. He was a staunch friend of the Moncton Baptist Church, of which he was trustee and deacon for many years. Mr. trueman was a heavy sufferer by the commercial panic which visited Moncton and prostrated almost all its business houses. In consequence of these reverses he moved from Moncton to St. John about 25 years ago. Some three years ago he was smitten with a paralytic stroke. On Saturday morn., he passed quietly away.
