      Robert STEADMAN was born in Cornwallis, Kings County, Nova Scotia on May 5, 1853. He was the son of James and P. STEADMAN. (Other records give names as Henry and Nancy.) They moved to Somerset in Kings County. His father was a farmer.

      On Christmas Day in 1873, he married Mary Percilla Guest, age 17, daughter of Abraham and S. Guest of Granville Mountain, Annapolis County, Nova Scotia. Abraham Guest was a Ship Carpenter. Robert STEADMAN was age 20, and a bachelor at the time. (ref: Annapolis County marriages 1873, #82)

      Jessie STEADMAN Miethe thought that her grandmother's name was Caroline Guest. Also, there seem to be some minor discepancies in other dates and sex. Ira is her father. Currie is Curtis James (Jack) STEADMAN.
