Ernest William STEADMAN was born Annapolis County, Nova Scotia, on October 24, 1891. As a young man he moved to the Boston area.
He married Princess Annie Louise Hudson on September 10, 1919, in Canton, Norfolk County, Massachusetts. They were married by N. B. Rogers. He was living in Canton at the time and was working as a barber.
They seem to have separated for a time after the marriage. In the 1920 census, she is listed as Louise P. Hudson and residing with her sister Flora Hudson Robinson at 195 Eutaw Avenue in Lynn, MA. He was listed as boarding along with his brother Curtis at 30 High Street, Lynn. He was listed as age 28, married, and immigrating to the US in 1919. She was listed as age 18, single, and immigrating to the US in 1918.
Their only known child, Ernest Hudson STEADMAN was born in 1921. At that time they were living at 84 Marianna Street in Lynn. Ernest listed himself as a 28 year old restaurant employee and she was listed as age 19.
Louise died of Tuberculosis in 1929. They were living at 88 Clarendon Avenue in Lynn. She was working as a dressmaker.
After her death, Ernest married Dorothy Morgan. They had a daughter Shirley and lived at 21 Glenwood Street in Lynn until their deaths. Ernest worked as a chef for General Electric.
On his death certificate, he was listed as William Ernest STEADMAN and his occupation was given as working in the steam turban department of General Electric.
