    Text Many Mourn Passing of Mrs. D. Wood Kyle at Moncton
    MONCTON, Jan. 7--(Special )The funeral of Mrs. Charlotte Louise Kyle, widow of D. Wood Kyle, who died at her home, 241 High Street, will be held tomorrow afternoon from Tuttle's Funeral Chapel to the receiving vault at Elmwood Cemetery.

    Since the death of Mrs. Kyle, which occurred on Saturday, there have been expressions of regret heard in many parts of the province and elsewhere. She had been ill for two months.

    She was born at Avondale, Carleton County, on Oct. 13, 1873, only daughter of the late James A and Trecia. (Orser) Barter. On Nov. 22, 1894-, she was married to D. Wood Kyle, who died Aug. 8 last. Wlren, first married they resided in Bath, N. B., later moving to Woodstock, then Moncton and Black's Harbor. In 1944 they celebrated their golden anniversary.

    Widely Known
    Mrs. Kyle was a member of Central -United (formerly Methodist) Church, Moncton, and during her residence in Black's Harbor was an adherent of Calvary United Baptist Church. She was widely known throughout Canada and the United s States, particularly in the Maritime

    Provinces where for 40 years she was a leader in the work of the Order of the Eastern Star. She became a member of Fidelity Chapter No, 32 at Houlton, Me., in 1906, and was instrumental in organizing Victoria Chapter No. 1-the first in the Maritimes - at Woodstock in 1909 and be
    came its first worthy matron. After moving to Moncton she further advanced the work of the order by organizing and becoming the first worthy matron of Frank H. Tingley Chapter No. 5 in 1922. Upon the organisation of the New Brunswick Grand Chapter of O.E.S., in 1930, Mrs. Kyle was elected worthy grand matron. Since that time she had:, honorary conferred upon her by many chapters throughout the province in recognition of her untiring efforts for the good of the order.

    With Mrs. Kyle at the time of her death were a daughter, Miss Trecia Kyle, Toronto; two sons, John, Montreal, and Donald, Moneton, and a brother, S. G. Barter, Prince Rupert, B. C., J. C. Barter, Vancouver, A.' A. Barter, Fort William, Ont., P.C. Barter. Saint fohn, and H. B. Barter, Hartland. There are also two granddaughters, Mrs. R. S. Hawkins, jinf London, Ont., and. Miss Eleanor Kyle, Moncton; three grand sons, J. William Kyle, Montreal, Dean W. and Paul N. Kyle, Moncton. and one, great-grandson. Russell Stephen Hawkins, London, Ont,
