NICHOLSON, John Joseph- It is with great sadness the family announces the unexpected death of John Joseph "Joe" Nicholson of Saint John devoted husband of Beryl (Mattatall) on Saturday May 10, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born 1936 in Halifax, NS to the late James and Bella (Young) Nicholson. Joe was in the Armed Forces from 1953-56 with the regiment The Queens Rifle. Joe was a Truck Driver for over 40 years working in his earlier days with Brampton, Whytby Boat Works and Colgate Palmolive retiring in 1999. Devoted husband, father and grandfather he enjoyed bowling, puzzles, cards and spending time with family and friends and the Hillcrest Seniors Club.
Besides his wife of 51 years Joe is survived by three sons James Warren "Jim" Debbie of Oshawa, ON, John Richard (Jean) of Collingwood, ON and Stephen Robert (Adrienne) of Shelburne, ON; two daughters Dorothy Lorraine of Oshawa, ON and Debra Lynn of Shelburne, ON; brother James Alfred "Nick"; three grandsons Tyson, Corey and Jacob; mother-in-law Dorothy Schoenwetter (Robert); sister-in-law Elaine Lee; several nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was predeceased by granddaughter Jasmine and sister Mary. |
