McNEILL _ H. Joyce (nee Dewar) September 18, 1923 - March 24, 2005 Joyce was born to Ken and Helen Dewar in Drumheller, Alberta. She married Donald Leishman McNeill on August 4, 1947. Don and Joyce adored each other through fifty-seven years of marriage. Joyce raised four loving children, Donna, Jack, Ken and Jan. Joyce was a loving and devoted grandmother to nine wonderful grandchildren, Lindsay, Shannon, Justin, Brad, Brendan, Jodi, Logan, Alex and Adam. Joyce graduated from Normal School at age eighteen and taught nine grades in a one-room schoolhouse near Irricana, Alberta. After many years as a stay at home Mom, Joyce re-entered the workforce as a Teacher in 1971. From 1972 to 1986 Joyce worked as a Business Education Teacher at Western Canada High School. During most of this time Joyce attended U of C part time and at the age of sixty, the same year she retired from teaching, Joyce received her long awaited Bachelor of Education Degree. A Memorial Service will be held to Celebrate Joyce's Life at St. Andrew's Church (924 Heritage Drive S.W.), on Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at 1:00 p.m. The family request that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 1825 Park Road S.E., Calgary, AB T2G 3Y6. Joyce was an incredibly loving, devoted and wonderful Wife, Mother and Grandmother. She was loved by many. We will all miss her dearly.
